Privacy Policy

My Abacus collects nothing, sends nothing, and has no way to contact a server.
There is no account, no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Everything below is detail on that one fact.
What the app stores
Two things, both written only to the device's own local storage and readable only by the app itself:
- Your preferences — the mode you last used, how many rods the board shows, whether sound is on, and your light or dark theme choice.
- Your practice record — problems solved, clean solves, and best streak.
Neither is transmitted anywhere, because the app has no networking code. Delete the app and both are gone. You can clear the practice record at any time from the statistics panel without deleting the app.
What the app does not do
- No data is collected, and none is sold or shared with anyone.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics, crash reporting or telemetry of any kind.
- No third-party SDKs, frameworks or services.
- No account, e-mail address, name or login.
- No access to the camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos or files.
- No network requests. The app functions fully in airplane mode.
The Android build declares the INTERNET permission because the app's own files are served from a local address inside the app itself. Nothing leaves the device.
Children
My Abacus is suitable for children and is designed to be safe for them to use unsupervised. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either. This is intended to satisfy the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, and the GDPR's provisions on children's data.
There is no user-generated content, no chat, no social features and no links that lead out of the app.
Your rights
Privacy laws including the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal data a company holds about you. Kape Labs holds no personal data about users of My Abacus, so there is nothing to produce or delete on request. The data described above never leaves your device and is under your control.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. A change to what the app collects would also require a new app release, since the current release has no mechanism to collect anything.
